Cargo tie-down rings are available for every trim of the Colorado, allowing you to keep your items more secure. Some trims also have a bedliner with internal storage compartments available. You can add a StowFlex compartment to the base trim, and it’s standard in the rest. This compartment measures 45 inches wide and 4 inches deep, and it’s built right into the tailgate, keeping items out of view.
Every trim’s bed also has a measurement tool built into it, and there are several other features you can add, including a 120-volt outlet. That can power many types of appliances, making the truck great for job sites and recreational outings alike.
2. Fantastic Off-Road Features
Heading off the road? Consider the Trail Boss, Z71, or ZR2. The Trail Boss can be equipped with off-road splash guards, an off-road front grille light bar, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and off-road assist steps.
The ZR2 comes standard with 33-inch mud-terrain tires, five selectable drive modes, multimatic DSSV dampers, and an off-road performance display. A Bison package is available, turning this trim into one of the most capable vehicles available. The package gives 12.2 inches of ground clearance, five boron steel skid plates, and 35-inch mud-terrain tires.
3. High Towing Capacity
Most of the Colorado’s trims have the highest towing capacity in this truck’s class, as all models except the ZR2 can tow up to 7,700 pounds. The ZR2 is still a highly capable towing machine, as it can tow loads weighing up to 6,000 pounds.
4. Excellent Payload Capacity
Carefully check your chosen Colorado’s payload capacity, because there’s a lot of variance. The strongest trims are the LT and WT, which have a maximum payload capacity of 2,046 pounds. The Z71 is the next strongest, towing 1,733 pounds. With a maximum towing capacity of 1,726 pounds, the Trail Boss is next in line. Finally, the ZR2 can tow up to 1,445 pounds.
5. Advanced Infotainment System
The 11.3-inch infotainment system has wireless smartphone connectivity and available Google built-in. You can use voice commands to perform certain tasks, such as making calls and streaming audio entertainment, when your smartphone is connected to the system. If you have Google built-in, then you can access navigation, stream music, and personalize settings through the system.
